A bit about themselves:
Hi, my name is Sarah and I am a student at Brown University.
In May 2020, I founded Simple Studies! Everyone deserves the opportunity to do well in their classes, even when faced with challenges such as e-learning or financial difficulties. Education should not come with a price tag.
In May 2021, after my college application process, I started Frank Advice as a way to affordably help anyone else who might struggle with their applications.
In my free time, I write, read, watch TV, scroll aimlessly on TikTok, take photos, and occasionally bake.
I hope you love this site as much as I do! You can reach me at sarah@simplestudies.org.

Something interesting about being an international student in South Korea is that study materials for AP/IB/international curriculums are few and far in between. When you visit bookstores, all of the practice problem booklets are for Seuneung (the Korean version of the SAT, something like the Chinese Gaokao) and not the SAT. You might find a book for TOEFL, because Korean students and job applicants sometimes take it. But good luck finding a book for the AP or SAT exams; unless you go to a huge bookstore, there's no such thing. When we approached our teachers, they always said that they couldn't really help us---or gave us a "study guide" that wasn't all that helpful. Sometimes, the school board wouldn't open the CollegeBoard questions either, leaving us helpless except for the Barron's book we'd ordered online.Oftentimes, my friends ended up scouring the Internet for these resources, only to be scammed by a sketchy website that promised them good study materials or practice problems. And, along with them, I was often frustrated: we wanted to study, and yet we couldn't. For some students, just the one Barron's book and a poorly chosen textbook would do the job, but that wasn't the case for a lot of us.
Being an international student in a country where everyone is trying to go to SKY(Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University, our top 3 colleges--like HYPS) can be deeply isolating on its own, but this "resource gap" worsened the problem. Students often ended up resenting their smarter counterparts, a problem that could be alleviated if only they had more access to better resources. In my journey of overcoming these challenges, Simple Studies has helped me catch up to my more "naturally gifted" classmates and gotten rid of some of my resentment for them. Thus, I wanted to apply for this position to I could spread the word about Simple Studies and help all of the other students like me, struggling to adjust to going to university abroad!
Hi, my name is Cierra and I am excited to be on the Simple Studies team!
I am an admin of a confession account for multiple international schools in HCMC. I am in the advertising area for my schools student council.

I often think about the number of opportunities I missed because I did not have any mentor-like friends or someone eager to always share the new things they have came across with. This thought of mine has evolved as my will to be the person who I wish were there for me. I started by becoming the team captain of my school's robotics team to spread STEM values and inspiration which showed me how efficient a diverse group can work when they aim for the same goal. Then, I desired to establish a similar group of people who are aiming the same but this time to spread ideas and words. Thus, I ran campaigns to be elected as the school ambassador for the European Youth Parliament and continued my work by being selected as the Human Resources Assistant of European Youth Parliament Turkey. Nowadays; I am preparing to start LaunchX, an entrepreneurship program started by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology which I believe will be a great addition to my outreach and business experience.
I am founder of several startups and communities. I love to help others and help others the way simple studies has helped me.
